What is MedSTEM Explorers?
MedSTEM Explorers is a 6-week exploratory summer program at Rush University Medical Center for high school underclassmen in Chicago. Students will spend 16 hours per week in class exploring careers in STEM and healthcare, developing academic and workforce skills, and researching real-world health issues in their Chicago communities. Successful students from MedSTEM Explorers will be highly considered for the MedSTEM Pathways internship program.
Program Benefits

Career Exploration
Students will be able to explore careers through workshop, research, and discussions about their chosen fields with real professionals.

College Readiness
Students will gain valuable knowledge about their match schools, FAFSA, students loans, student resources, available scholarships, graduate school, and other financial literacy knowledge to gain their degree quickly and efficiently.

Workforce Skills Development
Students will attend courses and training that help promote vital work ethics and professionalism skills encouraging a competent, safe, and reliable worker.

Networking
Connect with students from west-side Chicago communities schools that surround the Rush University Medical Center.
