Volunteer Program
Short-Term Volunteering
Short-term volunteering gives Rush staff, students, and community members in STEM and healthcare fields the opportunity to volunteer at one-time events with our students. Volunteers have an opportunity to play a key role in sparking interest, igniting awareness, and expanding possibilities for student growth. By connecting with students for academic and professional enrichment, our volunteers will have the chance to help them increase their chances for success.
Mentoring Program
As a mentor, Rush staff and students have the opportunity to share their experiences and play a role in workforce development and healthcare career exploration for our youth. Mentors will be paired with one of our rising senior MedSTEM Pathways Interns to provide college- and career-focused mentoring throughout the summer and fall semester.
If you have any questions, please contact Nia Benton, Program Development Associate for high school and college at (312) 942-3634 or [email protected].
Intern Preceptor
As a preceptor, Rush staff will serve as the point of contact for the intern(s) in their department. Departments can host one or more interns from our high school and/or college internship programs during one or more sessions. It is the responsibility of the preceptor and host department to oversee intern work, but the Rush Education and Career Hub provides all payment, onboarding, and support for managing interns.
If you have any questions or want more information please contact Nia Benton, Program Development Associate for high school and college at (312) 942-3634 or [email protected].
Rush Education and Career Hub is founded on the idea that opportunities, readiness, and higher educational attainment can improve lives. To support this core belief, we continue to provide a variety of programming to students in the West Side community.
By committing your time as a volunteer with REACH, you will be contributing to guiding, teaching, and pushing students to be healthcare change agents of the future.
If you have any questions or if you are interested in learning more about the Volunteer Program, please contact Lauren White, Program Coordinator at (312) 942-2157 or [email protected].
Partnerships
We also serve as a community resource for West Side area schools.
