Jayline P.

UIC Medicina Scholar, Class of 2023

"I brag so much about the support system, the learning opportunities, and the mission of the internship itself. I realized who was my fuel to continue my career path in medicine. It is REACH, MedSTEM Pathways, my cohort, Rush University Medical Center. I cannot describe the life changing impact [REACH has had on] me and all of the other REACH students. I tear up every time I speak about REACH, it literally changed my life."

Future Physician

“What distinguishes medicine from other fields of service is the commitment to see people through recovery. I have seen qualities in nurses, doctors and therapists that I can see in myself. I visualize myself working as a doctor because it fits with my calling directly serving people.”

Alexis-B

Alexis B.

Temple University (Class of 2022)

“My time interning at Rush inspired me to make preventative health services accessible and cost-efficient for all. I believe it is going to take both creative and artistic thought, as well as an understanding of medicine, to accomplish this goal.”

Future Ready Learning Lab

On February 5th, we launched our newest program Future Ready Learning Lab in two of our partner schools: Robert Nathaniel Dett Elementary and Washington Irving Elementary Schools. This enrichment elective is incorporated into the school day and allows students interested in STEM and healthcare to apply their learning to real-world situations, such as building robotics to help in a medical triage center or finding an approach to counteract a flu epidemic.
