“At the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System, we are committed to combining translational research with clinical care in order to address health disparities that exist across the state. Through our efforts, we have an opportunity to deliver personalized medicine to a racially and ethnically diverse patient population. Together, our focus on using translational research and personalized medicine to inform our clinical care will help us achieve a better understanding of the basic underpinnings of disease and disease processes, particularly among medically underserved Hispanics and African Americans within our primary service areas. At the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System we are changing medicine for good by making the latest advancements more affordable and accessible for those who need it most. This year we have placed a particular focus on issue of gun violence. We hope you will join us as we work together on this important issue.”
