On June 22nd as part of our MedSTEM Pathways Intern Orientation, we hosted a day of service to honor the legacy of Reginald “Hats” Adams, the former head of the Department of Community Affairs. Our interns, Rush employees, and community members participated in various service activities, including picking up garbage around the Rush University Medical Center campus and created “blessing bags” for the local organization New Moms. The day concluded with a barbecue lunch and an scholarship ceremony, where we awarded $1,000 scholarships to five of our recent high school graduate interns.
